Empowering Youth to Lead, Advocate, and Create Change

Umbrella

Youth Advocacy Fellowship

The Umbrella Youth Advocacy Fellowship, powered by PUSHH, trains youth to become community organizers through the Participatory Defense Hub model. Fellows learn to advocate for themselves and others, support families navigating the justice system, and lead campaigns addressing systemic inequities. Just as an umbrella protects from the rain, this program provides youth and families with support and guidance until they reach their goals. Participants graduate as trained organizers ready to expand the Umbrella model and drive lasting change in their communities.

The program is named Umbrella because, like an umbrella offering shelter from the storm, it provides youth and families with sustained support, guidance, and protection as they work toward their goals.
